In reply to jay. It's actually chilis and garlic in acetic acid. But I suppose some roasted chilis in vinegar blended would do the trick.

I made this and it was really good, I guess I’m trying all your recipes. A hint, sambal oelek is just a jalapeno pepper in the blender with a teaspoon of rice vinegar, so you don’t have to pay $10 for a bottle.

I made this dish and we loved it. Next time I will use less sambal oelek because it is REALLY spicy when using 2 tablespoons.
